That's a good question! This is not a common occurrence with nonstick coatings. This might occur if you're cooking on too high of heat, using aerosol cooking sprays, or simply cooking with a food item that emits a strong odor on its own (like onions for example). For removing odors when cooking with these type of foods, we recommend boiling a mixture of three parts water and one part vinegar in your pan on medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Let it stand until cooled, then wash with warm, soapy water and a soft nylon brush. Rinse and dry. Also try rubbing with a sponge or brush lemon juice or vinegar then wash, rinse and towel dry.
Cooking on too high of heat or using aerosol cooking sprays can damage the nonstick coating so be sure to always follow the use and care included with your product. For your convenience we have included a generic use and care that covers many of our brands and lines of cookware.
